The Club Today

We’re a newly formed but already extremely successful basketball club that was formed in 2020 when I couldn’t find anywhere local for my son to play. A year on, we have over 200 players across our senior, youth, and minis teams; we’ve grown exponentially, and already, we're having to turn people away as we’re full to capacity.

Last season, our men’s first team won the Solent Area Basketball Association Senior Div. 2 West league and came runners up in the East and West Playoffs and we now have a second men’s Vets team for the more mature player!

We also have a women's team of ex-national league players who are currently a ‘just for fun and fitness team’, but which we are developing for the local league next year.

We’re proud to say that for the first time in over 10 years, we now boast a local league for juniors put together by me and other members of the SABA committee. This is a huge accomplishment and a great advantage for the local area.

As well as our two senior men’s teams and our senior ladies’ team, we have our ‘Little Warriors’ which includes U8s and competing teams in the U10s, U12s, U14s, and U16 age categories. We also have an U18s adult development team and developing groups of U12s, U14s, and U16s.

All of our players are fairly new to basketball but we’re lucky to have outstanding coaches who came out of the woodwork and gravitated towards us; some of whom have just represented GB in the Maxi Basketball FIMBA European Championships in Malaga and are now working towards the world cup in Argentina next year.

We currently have a membership of around 500 members and this continues to increase weekly. Approximately 120 people will attend on game days and more on days when all seven of the teams meet, plus their families and supporters.

Our home is Meadowside Leisure Centre, Whiteley but we also play at Brookfield School and Deer Park Secondary School. All of these venues have function rooms where we'd be happy to host a sponsored event if requested.
